Where did we get our name?

The name Tryonota comes from the Tryon High School yearbook located directly across the road from the station. Tryonota serves the Tryon community and was originally named Tryon Volunteer Fire Department. When the department began the process of incorporating it was decided to choose a name that would not be confused with Tryon Fire Department in Polk County. The founders decided to use the name Tryonota due to its uniqueness originality to the area it served.
