PROTECTING THE CITIZENS & VISITORS OF WESTERN GASTON COUNTY
The Tryonota Fire Department is located in western portion of Gaston County, NC. Our professional firefighters consist of both volunteer and part time members. We are qualified and trained to provide the highest level of emergency services available to the community in many disciplines.
The mission of the Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department is to provide superior service to the patrons of the Tryonota Volunteer Fire Protection District in an effort to protect lives, property, and the environment. The members of the department will accomplish the mission through superior fire suppression, fire prevention, public education, emergency response and non-emergency response. The department will maintain the highest level of readiness, enabling delivery of fire fighting and emergency rescue services in a safe, competent, professional and caring manner.

FIRE SUPPRESION
Our highly-trained personnel are proficient in modern firefighting suppression techniques. Tryonota has an ISO Rating of a Class 4.
RESCUE
We are certified as a light rescue provider through NCAREMS. Our team is ready for motor vehicles and and any technical rescues.
MEDICAL RESPONSE
We are available for medical response to assist Gaston County EMS.
COMMUNITY RISK REDUCTION
We participate in Gaston County’s free smoke alarm program. Smoke alarms are available upon request through our risk reduction page.
TRAINING
Our members go above and beyond required training, to stay up to date with new techniques and skills to meet today’s demands.
FIRST RESPONDERS
Our members are dedicated to mitigating all emergencies. We work hard to maintain a trusting relationship with other agencies and the citizens we serve.
STEP UP AND SERVE
Our volunteer and part time members of the Tryonota Fire Department are highly trained a wide variety of response. We pride ourselves on the training we do and the service we provide to our citizens. We are always looking for more citizens who want to step and serve in some capacity for the community. Our volunteers have dedicated countless time and energy to serve our community proudly.
